EDITORIAL RETOUCHING

Editorial retouching
for stories that sell the look.

An editorial frame has to hold attention and stay honest at the same time. We finish covers, features and lookbooks so the model, the garments and the mood all read clearly — polished, never plastic, and consistent from the first frame to the last.

WHAT WE DO

Retouching that
serves the story.

Editorial work is judged as a set, not as single frames. Everything below is part of a normal editorial order.

◆

Cover and feature finishing

Cover lines, mastheads and feature openers get the most careful pass: clean skin that keeps its pores, eyes with life in them, and garments pressed and true to the sample.

◆

Lookbooks and series consistency

A lookbook only works when every page feels like the same shoot. We grade the whole series together, so light, tone and color hold steady from look one to look twelve.

See Before & After Examples →

◆

Skin, hair and fabric craft

Flyaway hair is tamed, not erased. Knit, silk and denim keep their weave. Skin is evened without smoothing away the texture that makes a person look real.

◆

Color and light for print and screen

The same set is prepared for the printed page and the feed: deep, printable color for the magazine and clean, bright files for digital, without a second shoot.

HOW WE EDIT

Careful hands,
invisible work.

The best editorial retouching is the kind nobody notices. These are the methods behind that result, in plain words.

◆

Texture first, always

We work on separate layers and keep original detail intact, so skin, hair and fabric survive the edit instead of being painted over.

◆

One grade for the whole story

A single color grade is built from the art direction and applied across the series, then tuned frame by frame so no image drifts.

◆

Honest shaping

We tidy stray threads, marks and background clutter, but we never reshape the model or change how a garment fits. What readers see is what was shot.

◆

Checked at full size

Every frame is reviewed at 100% before delivery, because print shows everything a small screen hides.

OUR PROCESS

Four steps,
no surprises.

◆
01

Share the story

Send the raw frames and the direction: the mood, the reference pages, and where the set will run. A cover and a lookbook are graded differently, and we plan for that from the start.

◆
02

We retouch by hand

One team finishes the whole series, so the look stays even. Skin, fabric and color are handled by editors who work on fashion imagery every day.

◆
03

Quality check

A second editor reviews each frame at full size for edges, color and detail. Anything that fails goes back for another pass.

◆
04

Delivery in your formats

You receive print-ready and web-ready files, named and sized for your workflow, with the same grade across both.

GOOD TO KNOW

Built for the way
editorials actually work.

◆

Sets stay consistent

An editorial set should read as one family. We match tone and color across the series, so a spread never looks like it came from two shoots.

◆

Deadlines respected

Most batches come back within a day, so a story can stay on schedule. Larger series are planned with you in advance, never sprung on you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Quick answers
to common questions.

It is the finishing pass on fashion stories: covers, features, lookbooks and campaign editorials. We refine skin, hair, fabric and color, and grade the whole series so every frame feels like part of one story.

Yes. We even out tone and remove temporary blemishes, but we keep pores, texture and character. The model should look like themselves on their best day, not like a painting.

Yes, that is the core of the service. We build one grade from your direction and apply it across the set, tuning each frame so light and color never drift.

Print-ready and web-ready files, sized and named for your workflow. Tell us where the set will run and we prepare both versions from the same grade.

Most batches come back within a day. Larger series take longer and are planned with you in advance, so the story stays on schedule.
